Deputy Minister of infrastructure Artan Shkreli has made some scandalous comments about the lack of tap water in Tirana, blaming it on the citizens for washing too often. Shkreli made his comments during a live debate with activist Gjergj Bojaxhi on TV Klan. The Deputy Minister said the Albanian families consume too much water because they wash every day.

“An Albanian family consumes more water than 20 years ago. The same family, with the same number of members”, Shkreli said.

Asked by Bojaxhi whether he was suggesting it was the Albanian families’ fault, Shkreli answered: “Of course, there’s an improvement of standards…”.
