The Institute of the Political Studies has published new facts of vote rigging from the one-party elections of June 30 in Albania, which were held by the Socialist government despite the opposition boycott and the Presidential Decree that postponed them. The latest scandal has been discovered in Elbasan where the number of valid ballots is higher than the total number of ballots in the ballot boxes.

As seen in the official table published in the website of the Central Electoral Commission, the total number of ballot papers in the ballot boxes is 35,618, out of which 2,089 ballots resulted invalid, 44 ballots were thrown in the wrong boxes, while 38,479 ballots were declared valid. The number of valid ballots is 2,861 more than the total number of ballots in the boxes.

As a consequence, the single candidate in the mayoral elections has won with 38,479 votes out of the total of 35,618 ballots in the ballot boxes.

KQZ also declared that the number of ballots in the boxes for the municipal council was 40,601 or 4,983 ballots more than in the ballot boxes for the mayor’s election!
