The Albanian will hold its fourth national protest rally in the evening, with Democratic Party chairman Lulzim Basha saying the opposition is actually the political and moral majority in the country. The protest is scheduled to start at 18:30 but there are no details on how long it will continue.
300 students of European Popular Party will be present in the rally, according to Basha.
“European youth from Germany, Great Britain, France will be by our side against the tyranny of crime, for an Albania like the entire Europe”, Basha said.
The Democrat leader said it is not “a battle for Lulzim Basha’s personal power. Albania and Europe know we are today the new moral and political majority in the country. We are fighting this battle for a deep transformation that will end the prolonged transition and will dictate the European standard in the democracy through a deep political and constitutional reform; the standard hat will treat citizens equally in front of the law”.
The Albanian opposition has been protesting for months now, demanding Premier Edi Rama’s resignation and a transitional government that will conduct snap parliamentary elections.
