Albanian Premier Edi Rama has appointed himself in the post of the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, following President Ilir Meta’s refusal to decree the candidate Gent Cakaj.
Rama announced the decision on Twitter.
“The President did not decree the Foreign Minister’s dismissal within the constitutional deadline”, Rama tweeted.
“(It’s) the latest violation for which and for the other ones we’ll confront in the new Constitutional Court. Till that day, which will come soon, I will be de jure in this role because we have no time to lose in search of the President”.
