Investigators of the Prosecution for Serious Crimes have sequestered the book of visits in the Ministry of Interior Affairs for the time when Saimir Tahiri was Interior Minister.

Tahiri is under investigation following the arrest of his relative Moisi Habilaj in Italy. The Habilaj brothers were the leaders of a criminal organization that trafficked drugs and weapons to Italy and Tahiri is accused of favoring and protecting the band.

A transcript of phone conversation between brothers Moisi and Florian Habilaj quotes the latter saying he had been in Tirana and had met the “big boss”. This was the motive behind investigators decision to sequester the book that keeps records of the visitors in the ministry. They suspect the meeting of Florian Habilaj with Tahiri took place near the Ministry of the Interior.
