Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha appealed to the Albanian citizens to rise in protests after the justice system’s failure to deal with government thefts. Berisha said justice is directed by the government.

“The opposition and the Democratic Party have kept clear positions considering concessions in healthcare. Mrs. Albana Vokshi, in her capacity as the chairwoman of the Health Commission in the parliament, summoned (former minister of Health) Ilir Beqaj before the commission. Also, she testified at Tirana prosecutor's office. In 2019, she requested from the Ministry of Health to deliver the contracts and data on concessions”.

“What was (minister of Health) Ogerta Manastirliu's response? Once she wrote that the prosecution has the file and we cannot give it. And when the investigation ended peacefully and in the most irresponsible way, the prosecution declared that the sterilization contract is in accordance with the law.

After that, the data was requested again and Manastirliu said that they cannot give them because these are trade secrets. But it’s all published”.

“On this occasion, I once again address the Albanian citizens. As you see, this criminal organization in power has committed the most unimaginable thefts against your taxes, your income, your property. Because public properties are the property of the citizens, not of the rulers.

Whoever expects that there will be an investigation, that justice will be done out of control, is deceiving themselves. We are dealing with directed justice. That's why we have to stand up, because in the two thefts of the century the main perpetrators have remained unpunished. They remain safe and throw bones or find scapegoats in order to deceive us. Therefore, dear citizens, no nation would tolerate such affairs, such mega-affairs of theft and embezzlement. It is up to us to restore the law, the rule of law by removing this criminal organization headed by Edi Rama”, Berisha said in his weekly press conference.
