Berisha: Rama bought 867,000 votes, Balla ordered the murder of an attorney

Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of using unlawful and criminal ways to win the electoral farce of May 14. In the analysis made for the loss in the local elections, Berisha said Rama exploited the state budget, the social security fund, and financial sources in violation of the law to buy 867,000 votes.

The former Prime Minister also repeated his serious accusations against Interior Minister

Taulant Balla, saying he ordered the murder of attorney Ravik Gurra in Elbasan. Berisha thanked the French authorities for sending an investigative file to the Albanian justice authorities which forced them make many arrests, including police officers, a prosecutor and a businessman named Pëllumb Gjoka that Rama’s government had granted the status of a strategic investor.

“Between Pëllumb Gjoka and Taulant Balla, the latter is the bigger villain, because Gjoka did not wish to become a minister. Pëllumb Gjoka solicited the murder of a prisons’ official, whereas Taulant Balla, according to testimonies in a court room, ordered the murder of Ravik Gurra. Praised be France, Belgium, and The Netherlands for their precious contribution with the transcription of their phone calls, in a time when in Albania Taulant’s records have been eliminated with a court ruling”.

“These developments show what the actual extension of his incrimination in which the Albanian opposition operates”.
