Albanian Premier Edi Rama justified the presentation of a Balkans map where Kosovo was still shown as part of Serbia despite being an independent and sovereign state since 2008 and out of Serbia’s rule since 1999, following NATO’s airstrike campaign that forced the Serbian forces out of the country. The incident took place in an event where Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku was also present.

“Make-believe patriots found another job today by dealing with a map of the presentation of the Spanish giant Melia Group in a convent of tourism, where Kosovo was missing! It’s a known fact that that’s how Spain has the region’s map, but nothing bad came to the nation from showing that map for just a minute”, said Rama.

This is not an isolated incident, as Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha noted.

“(Serbian President) Vučić’s servant Edi Rama justified that map that shows Kosovo as a part of Serbia simply as a map of a foreign company! But in November 19, 2019 he posted on his Facebook page the same map”, Berisha wrote, condemning Rama’s act.
