Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha made a statement today accusing the Special Structure against Corruption (SPAK) of being an addition to the ruling Socialist Party. Berisha calls SPAK ironically as SKAP, which is the Albanian “does not catch” referring to the Structure’s inability or lack of will to deal with serious corruption at high levels.

“I am in front of you today to declare to the Albanians that SKAP today is an institution that is totally section of the Socialist Party, an impenetrable shield of the officials’ corruption and monstrous thefts, a shield of the criminal organization headed by Edi Rama”, said Berisha.

“I never had any doubts, I have said this to the citizens repeatedly, of course based on facts and the position held by this institution.

But this is definitively confirmed by the statement of the Head of SKAP Altin Dumani about two of the most shocking and fundamental issues of corruption in Albania, the case of incinerators and the 21^st century Watergate, the Rama-McGonigal affair”.

“Regarding the problem of incinerators, the tragicomedy of this affair is limitless. Tirana’s incinerator is a contract that costs Albanians €420 million. Tirana’s waste incinerator was declared by Altin Dumani, the “political commissar” of SKAP, as an enterprise whose owners are “unknown”. This incinerator devours every day hundreds and thousands of Euros of Albanian taxpayers from a mafia group that is led by Edi Rama, Engjëll Agaçi, Erion Veliaj, and several others”.
