Freedom Party Chairman Ilir Meta said the opposition will take part in the mayoral elections of May 14 for the restoration of pluralism in Albania despite the brutal decision of Edi Rama’s justice to give the Democratic Party seal to a group that does not enjoy the support of the overwhelming majority of the party base.

“They know now what Edi Rama's justice is”, said the former President of Albania. “But, through this brutal act that has shocked everyone who has even the most minimal knowledge of jurisprudence, Edi Rama also showed his panic from the upcoming elections, from the real opposition and at the same time he delegitimized his own government completely”.

“Therefore, any hope that the opposition will not be present on May 14 must be clearly extinguished The opposition will be there on May 14 at the polling stations, they will cast their votes and turn the May 14 elections into a referendum for the restoration of political pluralism in Albania, not only to eradicate monism in the local government. You know very well that we have a monist, discriminatory and completely non-transparent local government”.
