Albania has decided to cut its diplomatic relations with Iran which it accuses of being behind the cyberattack against its online public services.
On Tuesday, the Albanian Government sent a verbal to the Embassy of the Islamic Republic.
The decision was communicated today by Albanian Premier Edi Rama.
“The Council of Ministers has decided with immediate effect the termination of diplomatic relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran. The decision has been communicated through an official note to the Embassy of Iran. A request to leave Albanian territory within 24 hours has been presented to the diplomatic and technical-administrative personnel, including security personnel”, said Rama.
The online public services and government sites were shut down temporarily on July due to the cyber attack.
