Former Albanian Premier and Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha said he will join today’s protest in Tirana as a common citizen that is sad and indignant by the death of the 7-year-old girl that was killed in the beach by a speedboat driven from a police officer.

Berisha made his promise at the family of the girl where he paid a condolences visit.

“What makes the tragedy even worse is that the Prime Minister – instead of firing (the interior) minister Çuçi – attacks the media reporters and politicians and compares them to political vampires. He shows he is siding with the actual vampires”, said Berisha.

“I’d like to express my heartfelt condolences to this noble family and to condemn strongly the irresponsible attitude of Edi Rama and his ministers who see vampires at anyone that raise their voices to condemn a horrible crime that would be shocking anywhere in the world”.

“Of course, I will join the protest. I will join the protest as a citizen. The protests is of the citizens. Democrats will be there as citizens”, said Berisha.
