The Democratic Party reacted today after the latest scandal of using other signatures of persons that live in nursery homes or in poverty, also deceased persons, for the waste incinerators.

Democrat MP Belind Këlliçi made a declaration about the case of the late Gjyste Sermi in which name circulated posthumously €5.5 million of incinerators money.

“Albanians have a tradition of paying a deceased relative’s debts to make them pass sinless and unburdened to their afterlives. Edi Rama’s government, turned into the government of death, is doing the opposite. After raising the public debt and plummeting the living in interests, it doesn’t let the dead rest in peace either”, Këlliçi said.

“This is the case with the late Gjyste Sermi, deceased two years ago, in which name figure several debts and lawsuits. All this is a result of the machinations of people connected to the waste incinerators affair in attempts to hide and clean up the millions of Euros of the scandal of the century.

Gjyste Sermi's signature was forged and used in illegal actions, twice when she was on the verge of death, and three times after her death. €5.5 million circulated in her name posthumously. Several actions have been taken in her name in the National Business Center (QKB), despite her figuring dead in the register office”.

“This is a macabre story of misuse of the name, honor, and grave of an Albanian woman; the undoing and shaming of an ancient tradition. The Democratic Party strongly condemns desecrators, chronic fraudsters, and serial thieves of public property. They all have different names and portraits, but they all thrive under Edi Rama’s shadow, his ministers’ and the gang of incinerators.

We call on SPAK to come out of its lethargy, follow the money and their trail will lead to the solicitors of the scheme.

In the name of dignity and the law, those whose greed stops at nothing should be stopped as soon as possible. It is due time to say "stop stealing, go away!" to the government of death”.
