Former Member of the European Parliament Doris Pack has reacted strongly against US Ambassador Yuri Kim’s tweet, where Kim admitted the interference in the Albanian justice to.

Kim tweeted: “If “interfering in the judicial process” means encouraging judges and prosecutors to do their jobs despite threats or inducements, making clear US will continue to support implementation of justice reform in Albania, underlining that no one is above the law, and urging that all of us must do our part to fight against corruption and impunity, then YES, the US has done and will continue to do exactly that – because the fight against corruption and efforts to undermine democracy constitute a core US national security interest”.

Pack responded by accusing her of meddling in legal proceedings:

“Ambassador”, you are interfering in national legal proceedings. This is illegal for any Albanian citizen as well for a guest in the country. Such behavior we all know from dictators. Shame on you!”
