The historic leader of the Albanian Democrats Sali Berisha said former disgraced chairman Lulzim Basha and the acting chairman appointed by him Enkelejd Alibeaj are engaged in a shameful sabotage of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party. Speaking on Çim Peka Live on Syri TV, the former Prime Minister said the majority of the Democrat MPs recognize the Democrat National Assembly of December 11, 2021 and the result of the March 6 mayoral by-election, where the candidates of Berisha’s faction did better than the formal Democratic Party led by Basha, also winning one of the municipalities, Shkodra.

Berisha told host Çim Peka that Basha and Alibeaj intend to found their own party. However, the former chairman expressed his belief that the MPs and Berisha’s followers will find common ground to cooperate and reunite the party.
