Former President and Prime Minister of Albania Sali Berisha said in a meeting with Democrat women he will never welcome US Ambassador Yuri Kim in his office unless she apologizes for her “grass” declaration.

“It would a historic irony, but also a tragedy for this country, not just the party, if the party were to eat grass for the sake of one man’s personal interest”, Kim said last July, referring to former Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha who had been banned from entering the United States last May with a decision of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

“I’d like to say a couple of words to the Lady Ambassador that promotes George Soros’ policy in Albania and the Balkans more than her country’s politics. She said on TV should Berisha win (chairmanship of the party) ‘I shall not shake hands with him, neither shall I knock on his door’. Now, I’d like to respond”, Berisha said.

“Dear Lady, Sali Berisha’s door in the capacity of the Democratic Party chairman, Prime Minister, or whatever position, will always be open to the Ambassador of the United States, with one condition only: if their name is Yuri Kim, no matter what function they have, they will never set foot in my office without apologizing first for the grass the served to you”, Berisha told the attendance.

“We are not the women and men to eat grass. We are the ones that overthrew the dictator that offered the grass to Albanians. No one insulted you like this in the last 30 years and that’s why I guarantee you she will not set foot in my office unless she apologizes to you first”.

Former Communist Dictator Enver Hoxha was infamous for his declaration that the Albanian people would prefer to eat grass rather than violate its principles.
