Albanian President Ilir Meta wrote on his Facebook page he had a meeting in Rome with Secretary General of the World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and asked him for concrete support for Albania in its fight against Covid-19.

"I had a warm meeting in Rome with Secretary General of the World Health Organization Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. He introduced me to the essential conclusions of the G20 Summit that focused on the global COVID-19 pandemic and economic recovery”, Meta wrote.

“I informed him about the serious consequences of the pandemic in our country, especially for the health and lives of the citizens, for the profoundly negative impacts on the Albanian economy, as well as the steps that are being followed to overcome the consequences as soon as possible.

I expressed the interest for a greater attention and concrete support for Albania from the WHO, mainly for our health system, to do everything necessary for the efficient protection of the life and health of the Albanian citizens".
