Democratic Party spokeswoman Ina Zhupa has exposed another public fraud of Tirana’s mayor Erion Veliaj concerning tap water crisis in the Albanian capital.

What’s worse, Tirana’s water is undrinkable because it is polluted, despite Veliaj’s claims it is safe to drink. Zhupa has published documents proving that, while pretending for quality water for the citizens, Veliaj spends millions of Lek to buy bottled water for the municipal administration,

“Referring to the documents of procurements of the last two years, the Municipality of Tirana has spent 28 million Lek “For the purchase of drinkable water for the municipal administration”, Zhupa wrote on her Facebook page.

In addition to that, Zhupa revealed the contract was given to a company with 33% of shares owned by Elvin Tivari, the director of the Sales Department in Tirana’s water supply and canalizations department in the Municipality of Tirana.
