Albanian Central Electoral Commission (KQZ) continues to disobey President Ilir Meta’s decree for the postponement of the June 30 elections.

KQZ addressed an official letter to the Mayors that have required the release of the voting stations, telling them not to consider the presidential decree but the Socialist Party Resolution passed by the parliament which called on President Meta to reflect on his decision to postpone the local elections.

According to KQZ, the presidential decree is void whereas the Resolution imposed by head of the Socialist parliamentary group is a source of legitimacy.

This kind of miserable and ridiculous interpretation proves once more that the KQZ has no intention to play the role of the guarantor of a free and correct electoral process but simply to serve as a link to achieve the party’s goal.
