Democratic Party chairman Lulzim Basha said the opposition is de facto the majority in Albania despite the parliament majority held by the Socialist Party in power. Basha told the party executive bureau the situation is in the favor of the opposition after the deputies relinquished their parliamentary mandates.

“The situation is in our favor. We are de facto the majority. After the relinquishment of the mandates, the Democratic Party has grown among the undecided (voters)”, Basha said.

“We are the absolute majority in every independent survey, domestic or foreign”.

Basha urged the party to turn this support into votes.

“Our demand remains unchangeable: Edi Rama’s removal and a transitional government. We must explain everywhere, in every meeting, that we are the majority and we must show that”.
