The chairman of the Union for Human Rights, Vangjel Dule, has accused Premier Edi Rama of holding hostage the relations between Albania and Greece for five years.

"Steps backwards have been made in the last five years in the relations with our neighbour, with a not so small cost”, Dule said. “The relations between the two countries cannot be held hostage for long, because they are solid, laid back in history and in the present. Rama cannot hold the country hostage in the relations with Greece”.

Speaking about the agreement of 2009 on the maritime zones delimitation, Dule said it was a right one and expects the negotiations for the new agreement reach a right and effective outcome.

“The international law prevails on the country laws, including the Constitution. Greece and Albania are delayed in reaching the agreement”, Dule said.
