Democrat Deputy Tritan Shehu has proposed amnesty for all the persons that have worked in the cannabis plantations, asking punishment only for the responsible ones and the drugs bosses.

"State people that have been bribed to allow the cultivation of cannabis, now are terrorizing and pressurizing on the workers, blackmailing them for different things with the threat of sending them to prison for what they have done”, Shehu said.

The deputy added he is not yet clear how this could be reached, but said he made the proposal after talking with his electorate in Gjirokastër.

Shehu made it clear this is his personal opinion and will consult with other deputies of the Democratic Party”.
