The American Chamber of Commerce accused the Albanian government of unkept promises for the reduction of taxes.

The director of the Taxes Committee in the American Chamber Alketa Uruçi told the parliamentary Committee of Economy that the new fiscal package does not meet the promises made by the government.

"We regret to notice that the public promises for reduction of income tax and dividends have not been reflected in the new fiscal package”, Uruçi said.

The government had promised before drafting the fiscal package of 2018 and in the meeting of the National Economic Council that the first level of the personal income tax would decrease from 23% to 18%, while the dividend would low from 15 to 6%. Neither of the taxes was reduced, since the government withdrew from its promises.
