Candidate for the post of the Democratic Party chairman Eduard Selami faced today with the members concern of dividing the party, but he underlined that exactly in these moments the vote for him would be the first act of unifying the Democratic Party and its return as a force to reckon with.

"If you really want unity, vote for me and you’ll be united. This is one reason more. There is no record in my public history showing that I promised something and broke it”, Selami said, adding that Basha did not keep his promises.

“There is a difference between saying and doing. When one listens to Mr. Basha they say “lucky me”, but when one sees him in PD they say “poor me”. He did not keep his promises”, Selami said.

"Resignation would be a good act for both him and PD. That would open the way for a free process. Still, it’s not late for him to step down, because the candidate running against him is a very good one and he would leave the party in safe hands”.

Selami repeated his request for publication of members list to make the race credible, saying this is a common practice in the United States and also in German Chancellor Merkel’s CDU.
