Never before in the history of the Albanian Police has been such a storm of dismissals like the one that happened today. 29 high directors in the capital and in the counties departments have been fired. What happened and what was the reason?

Only days ago Premier Edi Rama declared, after the opposition protest that blocked the national roads for one hour: “Gratitude and respect to every effective of the State Police that, with their dedication and professionalism, made possible the return of trust in the blue uniforms. A lot has been done. Still a lot remains to be done. But, a lot will be lost if we stop today”.

“Gratitude… a lot has been done”. Gratitude for what? For the transformation of Albania into the biggest farm of cannabis in the world? For revealing the authors of none of the heavy murders, including that of banker Artan Santo or the Mafioso execution of police Commissar Artan Cuku lately? If he is grateful, why did he fire them? What has happened, who’s asking him to do so?

At the peak of the cannabis planting campaign in the whole territory in 2016, a report of foreign intelligence services appeared in the media, showing with details not only the areas that were proved later as planted with cannabis, but also the collaboration of crime with high levels of police, both in Tirana and in other counties. At the time, Rama hurried to label the intelligence as “rubbish from the media trash bin”. He stoically did the same thing even when the green of the Albanian drug covered the frontpages in the whole world.

For four years never ceased praising former Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri. His soldiers today are dismissed, but he doesn’t say why. Former minister of Justice Ylli Manjani once said that the international partners had repeatedly asked Rama to fire Tahiri and all the leading chain of the police implicated with the drug, especially during last year. Rama resisted till the end. Even after firing him declared he did that for “special merits”. “I did not fire him, but appointed him…”, Rama said.

On 21 February, during an event with the State Police, the Prime Minister held a “chilling” speech, full of praise for the this Police he kicked today, or better say he was forced to kick, after the smell of their deeds crossed the Atlantic.

“In 26 years (the police) have never been attacked more than in the last three years and never before have been on top of its duty and people’s respect. There might be a reason for an institution on top of the credibility list to be the most slammed one! Because they do their job and their job is to hit where the whole dirt of the criminal world in collaboration with the politics gathered till the other day. The State Police have hit and will continue to do so even stronger because they are being renewed in age, mind, moral and all the senses that as far as yesterday were left deliberately numb”.

This is Rama of two months ago. We’re sure it’s the same one that today was forced to saw all the pyramid of “the police we want”. The organization that was led from Saimir Tahiri, who allowed and protected the most criminal enterprise Europe has ever seen, seems like it was disbanded today. But this is not true. It only crumbled to regroup again for a new mission, this time led by Fatmir Xhafaj. Its disband will happen only when behind bars will be put not merely some communes’ chiefs but all the big sharks that are responsible for allowing but above all for the open collaboration with the narco-traffic Mafia.

The drug mission is accomplished. Now Edi Rama has a huge concern: To undo the opposition and protect himself from the people’s revolt, which is coming quickly. He crumbled the cannabis police “we want” , to establish the one he thinks will protect him in the road of madness he is going at full speed.
