Freedom Party Chairman Ilir Meta has only Premier Edi Rama to “thank” for Albania’s high level of corruption that has led to a higher level of poverty. Commenting the latest data from the European Commission that 70% of employees in Albania barely manage to meet their monthly needs, the former President of the Republic said that "the index of the growth of corruption goes parallel to the index of the growth of poverty”.

“Thanks to the Socialist ‘Renaissance’ we are now in the first place for corruption in the continent and the region, so we are also in the first place for the level of poverty and the inability of two thirds of the population to afford living”, wrote Meta.

“Only a change, breaking the state free, and restoring accountability fights poverty and restores hope for Albanian families! 2023 is the year of change”.
