Freedom Party Chairman Ilir Meta avoided commenting about investigations on Head of the Socialist Party parliamentary group Taulant Balla when asked in a press conference today.

Balla’s phone had been wiretapped after a request of the Prosecution Office of Elbasan in 2016, but the surveillance lasted only two days and the Court of Elbasan ordered the erasure of the recorded conversations of 46 hours and 50 minutes.

Asked about the controversy surrounding Balla, the former President responded he had more important messages to send.

“We’re here for more important messages. December is the month of democracy and Europe”, responded Meta.
