Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha has responded to Premier Edi Rama’s attacks, saying “he only steals in every act he signs”.

“Rama offered only one argument to the citizens, asking them how a two-meter-tall man could steal. No Albanian can accept such an argument. There are a number of affairs that reveals Rama as the biggest thief of the Albanian nation ever, from the foundation of the state until today”, Berisha said in Shkodër, where he is visiting the areas flooded from heavy rainfall.

“I can speak about energy. Have you, dear reporters, seen a single public tender for energy? Before, the offer envelopes for the energy tenders were opened before the eyes of the media reporters. Today, no reporter, no citizen, can control the power tenders of KESH (the Albanian Power Corporation)”, said Berisha.

“One year ago, they opened a tender for a digital platform of procurements. In February, the National Agency of the Procurements declared it as failed. However, in July the digital platform showed up like a ghost and no one in the world knows who built it. But we do know! That digital platform was built by one of the thieves that partake in the thefts in KESH. That digital platform was built with the intention that no journalist, no citizen in Albania could learn who participated in a tender and what offer they made. It is a digital platform of secret tenders. This is the truth”, said Berisha.

“The opposition is working to show Albanians and the whole world that this man, with his thefts, has transformed Albania into a dinghy nation”.
