Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha accused Albanian Premier Edi Rama and Minister of the Interior Bledi Çuçi for the murder of Lear Kurti, 32, in one of Tirana police precincts. Kurti was sent to the hospital after being beaten to death in the precinct. Berisha spoke to the media reporters outside the parliament, because he was not allowed to speak in the parliament session, where he asked for a minute of silence.

“Criminals wearing uniforms took the life of the young Lear Kurti. This is an ugly state assassination of the bandits Edi Rama and his minister Çuçi”, said Berisha, who expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Kurti.

“I also express my strongest revolt against this repeated criminal act of the assassins with police uniforms, for which no norms, law, or moral exist. It is several times that assassins wearing uniforms murder youths in the streets, in police cars, or in the precincts. I appeal to the youth to protest strongly against this cruel murder, against this torturous murder. He was taken dead to the hospital and as you say, their parliament refused the minute of silence. The parliament stood by the murderers’ side, not by the victim’s”.
