Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha condemned today Premier Edi Rama’s golden passports scheme, which is granting Albanian nationality to rich foreign nations through investments.

Berisha said in a press conference this is the third and last mechanism of transforming Albania into a haven of drugs and crime.

“I am here today to declare on behalf of the Democratic Party that Edi Rama’s golden passport is simply an invitation: ‘Narko-traffickers and criminals of all the region, Europe, and world, unite in Albania!’ The Democratic Party declares that after the initiative for the cannabis legalization, the law on the tax amnesty – meaning the legalization of dirty money of criminality from abroad – the golden passport is the third and last mechanism of transforming Albania into an earthly paradise of drugs, traffics, and regional, European and world crime”, Berisha told media reporters.
