LSI Chairwoman Monika Kryemadhi said in a press conference today her party (the Socialist Movement for Integration, LSI) has filed a penal lawsuit at the Special Prosecution against Corruption (SPAK) against the minister of Finances Dalina Ibrahimaj over the unlawful activity of the waste incinerators companies.

Kryemadhi said Ibrahimaj knew of the activity of the companies since 2018 but did file lawsuits against them.

“The Minister of Finances said in the parliament they knew about the fictitious companies since 2018. However, even when these fictitious companies were under investigation, the tax administration refused to investigate them on the grounds of issuing fictitious bills to deceive the state, along with the real benefiters of the bills that are the waste incinerators’ companies, Klodian Zoto’s company, a subcontractor of the incinerators”, Kryemadhi said.

“For this reason, today, with an addition to the penal lawsuit, I required from SPAK to investigate the Minister of Finances, former Director of the General Directorate of Taxation, Mrs. Ibrahimaj, for her direct implication in the incinerators affair, because with her actions and inactions she has influenced in the inadequate investigation of the financial crimes of the taxation administration she used to chair in 2018”.
