Albanian Premier Edi Rama announced in the international donors conference in Warsaw today Albania will contribute with a €1-million donation to Ukraine which has been fighting for more than two months against the Russian aggression.

“In this conference we will contribute with €1 million. I know it will not change much regarding the way the war is being fought, but we are honored to be here. I thank the Polish Prime Minister for this conference to do the best for the Ukrainians and I hope we’ll see peace soon”, said Rama.

He added Albania was among the first countries to open its doors to the Ukrainian refugees.

However, Rama has not respected Ukraine’s request to shut down ports for the Russian ships.

According to Deutsche Welle, despite President Volodymyr Zelensky’s request, Albania hasn’t shut down the ports so far.

Furthermore, Rama has no intention to restrict the entrance of the Russian tourists, ignoring Zelensky’s warning that persons that committed crimes in Ukraine may be among them.

"There is no decision of the European Union for the ban of ships and restriction of the Russian tourists, so it will continue to be like in the past years. Our decisions are always in line with the EU’s. In case of a aligned decision, we will immediately align with EU. This is simple, it’s not complicated at all”.
