Head of the Socialist Party parliamentary group Taulant Balla has accepted the proposal of Democrat MP Enkelejd Alibeaj for the date of the election of the new President of the Republic. Alibeaj proposed for the process of the election of the President to start on May 10.
Balla said the first round for the election of the President will be held on May 16.
“I agree with Alibeaj’s proposal. May 16 will be the day of the first round of the voting process. May 10 will be the day of commencing the process”, said Balla.
Alibeaj was appointed acting chairman of the Democratic Party from former chairman Lulzim Basha and also head of the Democrat parliamentary group, but the Democrat National Assembly decided his dismissal last Saturday.
