Former Premier Sali Berisha has appealed to the Albanian parliament to investigate Premier Edi Rama and former chairman of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha over money laundering.

“If we want to become serious in the fight against that ugly crime that feeds all the other crimes, terrorism included, we must put under full investigation both the head of Medusa (Rama) and his hostage (Basha)”, said Berisha in the parliament, adding that Rama helped close Basha’s problems with justice.

“The parliament must investigate Medusa’s head Edi Rama, officially accused from OSCE of recucling €200 million in the offshore banks, which he never denied; Basha also must be investigated, after he was investigated by Tirana’s Prosecution Office but his case was closed”, said Berisha, calling for the creation of an investigation committee for Rama’s and Basha’s criminal offenses.
