The historic leader of the Albanian Democrats Sali Berisha said they are leaving with hope a year that could have been totally dark. Speaking to Democrats in Vlora, Berisha said the real opposition has returned and the next year will be better.

“In contrast to the predictions that we fade away, we are still standing. We closed the dark year 2021 as a year of hope. We re-raised the Democratic Party as a real opposition, as a political force trusted by the Albanians. This is proved by all the researches that showed a catastrophic decline in September and now show the Democratic Party has risen above the level of April 2021”, said Berisha.

“We closed the year being a real opposition, an opposition that gives hope and faith, an opposition that will be the citizens’ advocate”.

The former Prime Minister said Albania’s integration into EU, and its Euro-Atlantic orientation are the major national interests of the Democratic Party.
