Discredited and dismissed chairman of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha is holding today a National Assembly he avoided for so long, ignoring the calls of the membership for the convocation. Basha’s Assembly comes a week after former Chairman Sali Berisha and the majority of the Democrat National Assembly delegates assembled and voted for Basha’s dismissal. Berisha called a referendum today for all the members to vote for the ratification of the Assembly’s decision to dismiss Basha.

Basha’s today gathering in the Palace of Congresses in Tirana resulted to be a bluff, as many students of the European University of Tirana were called to fill the hall. After the initial reports of the students in Basha’s so-called Assembly, it is reported the Socialist Party is helping him.

Sources told Syri the Socialist Party has been ordered to send buses full of people from the counties to help Basha.

Among them there are persons that are openly known as Socialist officials or persons with criminal records with connections to the ruling party.
