Former Albanian Premier Sali Berisha repeated his call for protests on Monday against the Open Balkans initiative.

“On Monday, at 4 pm, all in Tirana for a powerful protest”, Berisha said after having voted in the referendum of the Democratic Party for the dismissal of Chairman Lulzim Basha. Speaking to media reporters, Berisha added it will be a protest not only against the Open Balkans initiative but also against the eight-year-old corruption of Edi Rama’s government, highlighting the incinerators affair.

Berisha said the protesters will gather at the Democratic Party headquarters in Tirana.

“The protest will not take place outside the Democrat headquarters, it will only be the place of gathering. I invite all Democrats to join us and protest outside the Prime Ministry. The Democratic Party headquarters is not Lulzim Basha’s property. Today, after 5pm, Lulzim Basha will receive the verdict he deserves. This revolution will stop at nothing. Even if he shows up naked, Rama cannot stop the rush of the revolution”.
