Democratic Party Chairman Lulzim Basha met today EU Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Elnlargement Oliver Varhelyi. The Democrat chief thanked Mr Varhelyi and the European Commission for the vaccines EU gave to Albania and for the financial support intended to ease the economic and health consequences.

The conversation focused mostly on the process of the April 25 general elections.

“Basha notified the Commissioner about the massive manipulations to the electoral process through votes’ buy-out, involvement of persons with criminal record, the illicit use of the state administration, the criminal use of citizens’ personal data, the criminal use of state budget money and legalizations in exchange for votes”, the Democratic Party said in an official statement.

Basha guaranteed Varhelyi that the Democratic Party will continue its battle for change and to restore democracy in Albania.
