Genoveva Ruiz Calavera will no longer be the Director for Western Balkans in the Directorate General for the Enlargement and Neighbourhood in EU, after being appointed today as Director-General of the Directorate-General for Interpretation (SCIC).

It means she will quit her position as the chief of the International Monitoring Operation for the Justice Reform in Albania.

Former Minister of Justice Ylli Manjani commented the news of Calavera’s new position in EU.

“So, Calavera left too. From a director of Enlargement to a director of Interpretation in EU. She enlightened our integration path, not towards Brussels but towards Belgrade and Ankara”, Manjani wrote.

“She really pleased us, along with her friend Romana (Vlahutin, former EU Ambassador). They legitimated a regime of gangsters with the pretext that Europe was crazy about us. I have no doubt the last European Commission was the most harmful to our national interest of going towards West. It overthrew sacred principles of the functioning of state and the rule of law. Ms Calavera was the key official still in the game, that still continued to contribute passionately to the tune of the former EU Commissioners. But her time too is up. Let’s hope for something really European for us, the poorest of the Balkans’ poor”.
