Albanian Premier Edi Rama held again an extra-long press conference today, speaking about the economy. Asked about his famous electoral promise in 2013 about 300,000 new jobs, the Prime Minister responded that there are 225,000 jobs more than then.

“We promised 300,000 new jobs and today, based on official figures, not on surveys or statistics drawn from the surveys, but based on the figures of the labor register of the Republic of Albania – you may open and read it, and tell people if it is or is not true that in the labor register of the Republic of Albania, in 2013, there were 473,506 registered employees, and in the end of 2019 there were 698,235 registered employees. Are they or are they not 225 thousand more that are paid and pay according to their place of labor”, Rama responded to the question.
