Albanian Premier and Chairman of the Socialist Party (PS) Edi Rama intends to change the June 5 agreement reached with the opposition and backed by international partners, US and EU. Sources from the Political Council for the electoral reform said the opposition was against the request made by Rama, who participated in the meeting of the Council.
Secretary General of the Democratic Party (PD) Gazmend Bardhi sait the agreement cannot be revised or rewritten since it was agreed upon and signed by all parties.
“From the discussion of the PS chairman we understood the intention was to reopen the discussion for the content of the June 5 agreement and to make changes”, Bardhi said.
“The June 5 agreement is product of a joint six-month work, approved and signed consensually by all parties, with the support of our international partners. We stand to our signature and declare n word can be changed from what was agreed upon and signed by all parties”.
