Albanian President Ilir Meta sent a clear message to the supporters of borders correction in the Balkans, saying one “cannot play with the borders in the Balkans or anywhere else like on a drawing notebook”.

President Meta was speaking in the event organized by the Catholic University “Zoja e Këshillit të Mirë” with the topic “Peace as a way of hope: dialogue, conciliation and ecologic turn around”.

"Peace is not isolated by borders”, Meta added. “We must be responsible and mature to protect it also in our region, whose wounds of genocide and ethnic and religious conflicts are still fresh. It’s important to understand that the co-existence is the only future”.

Meta’s message comes amid continuous strong debates over the possible land swaps between Kosovo and Serbia.
