Iran has targeted Albania again as a country that is making mistakes due to its alliance with the United States. After the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei spoke about a an “evil little country” earlier this month at the wake of the US killing of the Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, now it is a spokesman of the Iranian Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Abbas Mousavi, that has scorned Albania after the decision to expel two Iranian diplomats.
Mousavi said Albania has made some mistakes and it should not link the good ties between the two countries to a third one, hinting at the United States. His comment was posted on Twitter by the Iranian journalist Hossein Ghazanfari.
“Albania has made multiple errors and we feel events in our region have created some misunderstandings for Albania; we recommend they should not link our good ties to a third country...”, Ghazanfari quoted Mousavi on Twitter.
