Former Interior Minister Flamur Noka has warned Edi Rama’s government over any attempts to sabotage the opposition protest scheduled for February 16. The Democrat MP said anyone who does not allow citizens to join the protest in Tirana will be held responsible.

Noka’s declaration came after the government announcement that the country’s busiest highway connecting Tirana to Durrës will be closed for six days for reconstruction work.

“Everyone that will try to stop the protest or create problems, even with the highway segment, will face the political will of the citizens”, Noka said in an interview with Alen Xhelili of the television Syri.net.

“The protest will remove the Renaissance and premier Rama from their roots”.

Noka added the road segments that need reconstruction work may be closed at another time and no one should even think of blocking the citizens join the protest in the capital.
