The residents of the Astir area in Tirana have protested for the 25th day in a row today against the government plans to pull down their houses for the construction of the new city ring.

One of the protesters, the lawyer Artan Manushaqe, had two messages for Albanian Premier Edi Rama and the General Prosecutor Arta Marku.

“Edi Rama has violated directly the security of habitation and of property. Shame on him and his government”, Manushaqe said, addressing his next message to General Prosecutor Marku: “Release the men arrested politically and start investigating on the New Ring Road project. Investigate the corruptive affair of the projects that hides the robbery and the intention of making Albanians leave the country. We won’t allow you, Edi Rama, we won’t leave Albania”.
