Albanian Interior Minister Fatmir Xhafaj has handed his resignation today, which has been accepted by Premier Edi Rama. Rama gave the news through a tweet, thanking Xhafaj for his contribution and announcing the successor as the head of the Ministry of the Interior, Sanër Lleshi.

"I accepted the resignation of minister Xhafaj whom I thank for the precious contribution. General Sandër Lleshi will bring a new positive energy at the helm of the Interior Affairs. The track has been paved. Now it is necessary to accelerate and reach even more significant results”, Rama tweeted.
