Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj refused to turn to a parliamentary hearing to give explanations related to the project of demolishing the National Theatre house to make space for business buildings. He refused the official invitation by the chairwoman of the Committee of Education and Media, Albana Vokshi, pretending everything has been consumed and concluded.

Veliaj’s refusal came after all the mess he caused a few weeks ago in the same Committee where he went uninvited and refused to leave the meeting room,

At that time, the Guard of the Republic refused the order to oust Veliaj who argued with chairwoman Vokshi.

After Veliaj was forced out, he was followed by the minister of culture Mirela Kumbaro who was invited in the hearing by the Committee.
