MEP Eduard Kukan has announced he woke up in Tirana today, where he will lead the EU monitoring mission to the Sunday general elections.

“I woke up in Tirana this morning. I like Albania, it's an interesting and beautiful country. I've been with her for years, and that makes me feel like home. As of today, I am head of the EU monitoring mission to the parliamentary elections that will be this Sunday. These elections are important for the country's future direction, the continuation of reforms and integration with the EU. Albania is our partner in NATO and a candidate for EU membership. I have meetings today with the political leaders of the various parties. On Sunday, together with my colleagues from the European Parliament, we will follow the elections across the country”, Kukan writes in his Facebook page.
