Albanian Premier Edi Rama said today an eventual loss of the Socialist Party in the general elections would be catastrophic, because, according to him, the Democratic Party is a huge threat to the country, as it has no vision to make the state.

Rama exploded in accusations against the opposition in a meeting he had today with farmer of Progri in the county of Korça.

“Today we are in different positions compared to 48 hours ago. We’ll go to the elections with our team and we’ll confront the Democratic Party, which remains a very big threat, because of their incapability to make a state. What PD has shown historically and until 48 hours ago is that they do not how to make the state, do not know to appreciate the state. What we have to lose is a catastrophe. In four years we made more reforms than in a quarter of a century, but if we go back…”.

Rama spoke also about the agreement he reached with Democratic Party chairman Lulzim Basha, which was made, as he said, to enable a real political battle instead of quarrels and slanders.

“Our agreement is connected to the necessity not to confuse, as we have done before, the real political battle with the quarrels, the mud throwing, slanders, accusations. We may have a thousand of things that separate us, but after all we are representatives of this people and no parent, either Socialist or Democrat, owes us to put a red stamp to the TV screen every time there is a parliamentary session on”.
