Democratic Party MP Dashnor Sula said in a television interview today the Democrat parliamentary group will not recognize Lulzim Basha as the chairman of the party. Basha was reelected in a farcical party election last week, but Sula said the party cannot have a leader that has lost five consecutive general and local elections.

“We, as a group, do not recognize Basha as Chairman of the Democratic Party, because we cannot trust a person that has lost five or six times. I didn’t even go to the leadership meeting, because we do not recognize that council, chairman, or election. This is a shame. He had left the scene for over a year and had the opportunity to contribute in the parliament with discussion”.
